I've been back on Outschool this past month. I took September off while I started my new position as Director (and a teacher) at our local non-profit preschool. It seemed like a good time to take a break and figure things out for my in-person kiddos and then figure out my online classes. In reality, all my momentum was completely lost and it was like starting from scratch again. I scheduled several sections of my previous classes only to have them canceled due to no enrollments. I was bummed to say the least. However, some of my old students found me and I started a new on-going class Beginning to Read and one previous student joined. From there each week I've gained a student and we are having lots of fun, but it is hard teaching kids to read in 45 minutes a week.
+I've also started tutoring 1 student 1x a week, but I would love to add more students to this practice. It isn't easy to tutor online; it would be so much easier in person. As always, I try to keep all my classes active and include lots of kinesthetic and hands-on learning.
I also finally got my Cooking with Kiddos approved on Outschool. We are right in the middle of this class now, and my own children are really enjoying the by-products of a cooking class-----SO MANY SNACKS! I am really enjoying making videos, as well. Turns out, I am completely comfortable in front of the camera when I don't ever have to see the people on the other side. I love cooking and baking and love sharing these recipes with my little friends. I tried to make them as accessible as possible for the students and not require too much assistance from their parents. I also give them lots of options to make the recipe their own and be creative. I also want to make sure they are yummy enough to eat, but still healthy (mostly healthy). I'm thinking of adding more cooking classes in the future... For now check out these yummy snacks.
That's about it for now. Check me out on Outschool or Teachers Pay Teachers.
